This splendid piece of oak furniture was designed by Jane and made for a private client
who required a dining table for the hall of her historic house with Saxon origins. It was supplied
with a removable extension leaf at one end so extra guests can be
seated when the occasion demands .
The cable design was researched and drawn up by Jane and then
hand carved on the edge of the table in the workshop.
Care was taken for the interpretation to be lively and a little irregular
so that the overall effect looked early English. The surface was
distressed and aged all over to remove any sharp lines and edges
